Here’s how you can type the Control (^), Option (⌥), and Command (⌘) keys on macOS.
Control (^) key – type Shift-6 Option (⌥) key – press Control-Command-Space and search for “option” Command (⌘) key – press Control-Command-Space and search for “place of interest”
I’m not sure why this happened, but at some point I lost the ability to hold down on a key to repeat them.
To solve this, run the following command in a terminal. You may need to restart the terminal for it to work.
defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool false
Just press Control-Command-Space on your keyword to open up the Emoji & Symbols window. Select or search for an emoji.
Click the small icon to the right of the search bar to bring up the character viewer to select more symbols.
